Hi! I’m Harriett and I am so glad to have you here!
I became a celebrant after my closest friends asked me to officiate their wedding. I officiated unofficially, and loved it so much that I decided to take the plunge and become a government approved, fully fledged, rule-abiding but fun-loving celebrant!
Prior to becoming a celebrant, I have spent many a Friday and Saturday evening singing my face off in cosy little jazz clubs all throughout Melbourne. No stranger to the stage, I am a trained jazz singer with a penchant for writing lyric driven pop songs. If you’re keen for a stalk, you can check out some of my work here. Working as a singer for much of my adult life thus far, I have become very adept at reading the room, negotiating excitable large crowds, and enjoying good-natured banter with strangers. These skills lend themselves perfectly to being a marriage celebrant.
I am honoured to be included in what can be the most important day in your life. The most exciting and rewarding part of my job is seeing your love story come to life on your big day, gazing out at your adoring family and friends, who are all rapidly oscillating between laughing, smiling and crying for the duration of your ceremony. Together, we’ll create a ceremony that is totally and uniquely you. We can have tradition, or we can throw the book out the window and go totally rouge.
You’d like broad, sweeping statements about the cosmos and the stars aligning so that you and yours could meet? We can do that. You prefer personal inside jokes that are really only going to be understood by you and your inner circle? We can do that too. We can save the really cheeky stuff for speeches (unless that’s your vibe in which case, I’m there).
Whatever you’d like for your day, I’m here and cannot wait to chat!
